Board of Governors

At Calcutta International School, we believe that a strong partnership between parents and the school is essential for our students' success. As a parent-driven school, CIS provides a unique sense of community where everyone feels valued and empowered.
How does our parent-driven governance work?
Direct Representation: The Board of governors is composed of twelve elected members of the parent body, ensuring that they have a direct voice in shaping the school’s direction. Members of the BOG serve two-year terms which ensure a steady flow of fresh ideas and perspectives.
Democratic Leadership: The officers of the Board, including the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary, are elected by the BOG members themselves, further strengthening the democratic approach.
Greater Accountability: This parent-driven BOG ensures that the school understands and caters to the needs and expectations of the community
Transparent Decision-Making: From crafting policies that guide our daily operations, overseeing the school’s financial budget to ensuring that our educational programs meet the highest standards of excellence, the parents play an important role in key decision-making process in collaboration with the Senior Leadership team.
