CIS Roadmap to 2040: Charting the Future

  1. Education That Responds to the World: We’re committed to an education that considers the needs of the planet, societies, and individuals. Our focus will evolve with global and student needs, guided by ongoing reflection.
  2. Mental Health and Self-Awareness: We prioritise student well-being through a strong focus on mental health and learner self-awareness — moving beyond a surface-level idea of ‘happiness’.
  3. Expanding Access Through Inclusivity: By 2040, CIS aims to offer meaningful scholarships and financial aid, supporting a more socio-economically diverse student community.
  4. Admissions with Purpose: We will refine admissions policies to welcome learners who align with our values and vision, regardless of background.
  5. Intercultural and Local Engagement: We aim to foster deeper intercultural exchanges within our community and meaningful connections with local and global partners.
  6. Future-Ready Infrastructure: We are reimagining our spaces to support mental and physical well-being, sustainability, and adaptability with purposeful use of technology and resources.
  7. Balancing Innovation and Stability: We will evolve with global education trends while maintaining a stable, structured learning environment through strong institutional frameworks.
  8. Clarity on Special Educational Needs: We will define what types of support we can provide, ensuring transparency and alignment with our resources.
  9. Responsive Learning for Every Cohort: Our systems will identify and respond to the unique needs and aspirations of each group of learners, using internal support, partnerships, or external help as needed.

10. Guidance for Diverse Student Pathways: We’ll continue investing in resources that support students in pursuing a wide range of academic and career paths.

11. Empowering Educators: We’re building systems that support teacher autonomy, growth, and accountability, recognising teachers as the foundation of learner success.

12. Parent-Educator Partnerships: Ongoing dialogue between parents and teachers will remain central to supporting student agency and growth.

13. Parent-Led Governance: As a parent-run school, CIS will strengthen its governance systems to ensure stability, experience-led decision-making, and long-term vision.

14. Data-Informed Decisions: We will strengthen our commitment to evidence-based decisions through regular review and reflection.

15. Role Models in Action: Our educators and community members will lead by example, promoting collaboration, respectful debate, and the value of diverse perspectives.

16. Student Voice and Leadership: We will expand platforms for student agency from councils to debate clubs, so students learn by doing and leading.

17. Building School Traditions: We’ll nurture shared traditions that foster a deep sense of community and belonging.

18. Peace and Global Citizenship: Our long-term goal is to instil a culture of peace and sustainability, helping students engage with global challenges through empathy, critical thinking, and action
