Junior Section

Inspiring young minds with innovative learning

Our Junior Section encompasses Grades 1 to 5, continuing to build upon the strong foundation laid in the Primary Section. Committed to holistic development, we empower students with 21st-century skills, preparing them to be confident and future-ready thinkers both in and out of the classroom.

Curriculum Overview: In Grades 1 to 5, we implement the Cambridge Primary Curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science, spanning Stages 2 to 6. Subjects such as Humanities, Languages, Art, ICT, Music, Drama, and Physical Education are designed in alignment with both Cambridge guidelines and the principles of the International Baccalaureate (IB).

Flexible and Holistic Learning Framework: Our skill-based spiral curriculum is designed to be flexible, progressive, and multi-dimensional. It fosters deep conceptual understanding and real-world application.

Inquiry-Based Learning and Critical Thinking: Our approach encourages students to ask questions, investigate, and discover knowledge independently. This nurtures critical thinking skills and fosters a lifelong love for learning, empowering students to become active and responsible participants in their educational journey.

Diverse Teaching Methods: A range of pedagogical practices is implemented to address the varied learning styles of our students, ensuring that each student is engaged and supported effectively.

Student-Centered Learning: We embrace a student-centred approach, engaging learners through experiential opportunities such as projects, research activities, assemblies, and excursions, which foster analytical and critical thinking skills.

Collaborative Learning: Collaborative learning is promoted through group activities that encourage teamwork, responsibility, and participation in cultural events and co-curricular pursuits, building confidence and social competence.

Interdisciplinary Approach: Our curriculum encourages meaningful connections between subjects, empowering students with learner agency to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills across a wide range of learning areas.

Comprehensive Assessment Strategies: We employ a balanced mix of formative and summative assessments to support and measure student learning, designed to capture a comprehensive picture of each learner’s progress and potential.

Community Engagement: We inspire students to take responsible action within their communities, promoting social responsibility and environmental awareness.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL): The weekly SEL lessons help students understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible choices. They improve focus, reduce anxiety, thus supporting better academic performance. Students grow into confident, caring, and well-adjusted individuals.
