Abdul Samad

I have been proudly working in the field of education for over 33 years of meaningful service. In 2002, I made a significant shift in my career—from a large institution with over 2,000 students and extensive infrastructure to Calcutta International School (CIS), located at 18 Lee Road. Though smaller in size, CIS immediately gave me a strong sense of belonging and warmth.

Embracing this new environment, I dedicated myself to building a strong culture of sports and physical education. Through consistent efforts, structured coaching sessions, and continuous encouragement, students began actively participating in various tournaments. Before long, winning championships became a proud tradition at CIS, with both boys and girls showing great enthusiasm and commitment towards sports.

The school’s move to the expanded campus at 724 Anandapur in 2006 marked a turning point, bringing enhanced infrastructure, greater student participation, and better facilities, enabling us to compete at national and international levels. With the upcoming addition of indoor sports facilities and a swimming pool, we’re excited to elevate our sports program even further.

Being part of the CIS family has been incredibly fulfilling. The unwavering support from colleagues, department heads, and our principal has made this journey truly rewarding. CIS continues to inspire me, and I’m proud to contribute to its growth in both education and sports.
