A perfect 45 in IB, nurtured by a school that felt like home.
My journey here at CIS was marked by meaningful connections I was able to form with my peers and teachers. The environment at CIS was one where everything grew to feel like home, from standing in line at the canteen to get fries to chatting with teachers when double lessons at the end of the day felt too tiring. Friends became family and teachers became parents and somewhere along the way I realised that the words of the school song rang true, because it felt like the place was filled with love and loyalty- the kind of environment that really helped me to excel and unlock my true potential. My time at CIS was a journey of self-discovery and with all the opportunities the school provided me to prove myself, as a hard-working student, a mentor to juniors, a source of support for my teachers and a leader for many – I am grateful I was able to make the most of my time here.
I believe that CIS played an important role throughout my college application process, both in terms of the help I received from the school career counsellor, and in providing me with multiple opportunities to enhance my application.
This proved crucial in preparing me for my college applications since I felt ready to handle the challenging nature of the process after the way in which CIS had trained me. From writing my SOP to understanding interview questions, the school career counsellor was a constant source of support and was always available and approachable in times of need. Moreover, my teachers believed in me throughout the application process and their faith and encouragement helped me through the difficult period of waiting to hear back from my colleges. Ultimately, after everything has worked out, I can now confidently look back and say that my journey at CIS was an enriching experience filled with wonderful memories I will cherish for years to come.
